What we do
At Abigho Hope Foundation, we are dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). Through advocacy, education, healthcare support, and community engagement, we work to reduce the burden of sickle cell and promote healthier, more informed communities.
Sickle Cell Awareness
We raise awareness about sickle cell disease through community outreach, school programs, workshops, and media campaigns. Our education initiatives focus on prevention, early diagnosis, genotype testing, and reducing stigma associated with sickle cell disorder.
Screening & Early Detection
We support and promote genotype screening and counseling, especially for young people, intending couples, and pregnant women. Early detection helps families make informed decisions and improves long-term health outcomes for those living with SCD.
Psychosocial Support
Living with sickle cell disease can be physically and emotionally challenging. We provide counseling, peer support groups, and family guidance to help patients and caregivers cope with the emotional, social, and mental health impacts of SCD.
Advocacy & Engagement
We advocate for better healthcare policies, increased funding, and improved access to sickle cell services. By engaging policymakers, healthcare providers, and community leaders, we strive to improve care standards and protect the rights of people living with SCD.
Youth & Patient Empowerment
We empower children, adolescents, and adults living with sickle cell disease through mentorship, life-skills training, and self-management education. Our programs encourage confidence, independence, and active participation in society.
Support & Partnerships
We collaborate with hospitals, laboratories, researchers, and other organizations to support data collection, research, and innovation aimed at improving sickle cell treatment and management.
